Kimberlee Seah – Soleo Health

Est. reading time: 4 mins

A patient and her family were pleased when she was discharged from the hospital after receiving care for her endocarditis—the inflammation of the inner linings of her heart’s chamber and valves. However, she still needed follow up care—infusions of antibiotics—to prevent further infections. Finding a provider on short notice wasn’t easy—just getting insurance company approval […]

Santiago Lopez Aufranc – Newsan

Est. reading time: 4 mins

Despite the rocky Argentine economy, Newsan introduced Motorola’s new line of smart televisions in the country in April. That’s on top of the Motorola smartphones Newsan has been manufacturing since 2014. “A great partnership,” says Newsan’s legal manager, Santiago Lopez Aufranc. But, he laments, it’s being tested by circumstances beyond the company’s control. The Argentine […]

Oscar Arroyo – The Central America Bottling Corp.

Est. reading time: 4 mins

When Oscar Arroyo joined The Central America Bottling Corp. in 1988, the Guatemalan company was known for bottling Pepsi. It’d been working with the soda giant since the 1940s and business was good. However, the newly appointed CEO and the new chairman of the board knew CBC needed to expand beyond its home country if […]

John Cheek – Tenneco

Est. reading time: 5 mins

At the start of 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic began, leaders at Tenneco decided to pause a  major company restructuring. The plan had been to split the company in two and create a spinoff called DRiV Incorporated, which would have specialized in ride performance and aftermarket solutions for cars and trucks. Tenneco manufactures automotive components […]

Fred Wolgel – Texas United Management

Est. reading time: 5 mins

How times have changed. When Fred Wolgel became Texas United Management’s first in-house lawyer in 2006, the chief executive officer told him there might not be enough to keep him busy at the family-owned business in Houston. “It soon became the standard punch line,” the good-natured Wolgel now says with a chuckle. “Once I got […]

Darrell Nathaniel Bridgers – Citigroup Global Markets Inc

Est. reading time: 4 mins

As a fan of TV’s popular legal shows like Perry Mason, L.A. Law and Suits, Darrell Nathaniel Bridgers had a romanticized view of the justice system and lawyers. Still, he understood at an early age that the real-world legal system wasn’t always fair. When he and his 13-year-old friends were running down a popular hangout […]

Christopher R. Miller – All American Healthcare

Est. reading time: 4 mins

The numbers don’t lie, and they add up to a nationwide nursing shortage that’ll only become more acute. Baby-boomers are aging—and ailing—straining the limits of healthcare as it’s now known. Nursing, made more demanding by COVID-19, is attracting fewer and fewer young women and men when they’re needed most. Healthcare researchers estimate a 10 to […]

Christy Neuhoff – St. Luke’s

Established in 1902, St. Luke’s Health System is Idaho’s largest healthcare provider, and Christy Neuhoff has been leading the legal charge there for the last 15 years. Lesleigh Hall – St. Tammany Health System

Est. reading time: 3 mins

On a blustery Friday afternoon in 2022 when most people were thinking fondly of the weekend, Lesleigh “Les” Hall was pouring over 150 medical charts. She was auditing the charts to ensure St. Tammany Health System remained in compliance with the regulations of the 340B Drug Pricing Program. Administered under the Health Resources and Services […]

Michael Kessler – MISO

Est. reading time: 5 mins

From his office in Carmel, Indiana, Michael Kessler is around halfway from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and Louisiana to the plains of Manitoba. There’s not much in common between these regions, which include 13 U.S. states and a southern portion of Canada, except the need for electricity. Kessler has a hand in energizing these […]

As promised in advance, my feature in Vanguard has increased my visibility within the profession and prompted more than a few people I have not communicated with recently to reconnect. One of the Italian law firms I have used in the past is now in the process of interviewing me for an article on their website and tweeting out the feature story. Activity and the number of people connecting with me on LinkedIn has soared, which is great. The Vanguard writers and editorial staff were great to work with—highly professional and made the effort to make the experience both fun and rewarding (they were also respectful of the time pressures and demands all lawyers face). I was very pleased with the experience and the final outcome. Needless to say, I have been very pleased. All in all working with Vanguard has been a very positive experience which generated good publicity for both Shawcor and myself. My sincere thanks.
– Tim Hutzul, General Counsel, ShawCor Ltd.
I was honored to be the subject of an article. I enjoy reading Vanguard articles and seeing how other attorneys got to their positions and see their jobs. It's also interesting to see how different law firms partner with the subjects of the articles.
– Henry Marquard, in-house counsel, Stanley Consultants Inc.
The piece highlighting my company, Bob Baker Enterprises, Inc., came out fabulous. Our company is in the new and used car sales and service industry. Everyone was great to work with and extremely professional. They produced a high-quality product and have provided expert assistance and guidance post-production of the article.
– Wade Poulson, General Counsel, Bob Baker Enterprises Inc.
It was a great honor to be featured in Vanguard Law. Working with every member of the team, from the initial interview with Erin Clark, through production with Victor Martins, writing the article with Taryn Plumb and creating the final content with Dave Gushee, was a true pleasure. Everyone was very professional, enthusiastic and supportive, and their creative approach and positive attitude clearly came through in the final product.
– Kevin C. Rakowski, Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Compliance with Radian Group Inc.
