For Analisa Corbo, joining Docebo was less a career move and more a moment of perfect alignment. She had spent a few years at another SaaS company, learning how to be independent, agile, and resourceful within a fast-paced environment. But she felt ready for a new challenge, one that would push her professionally and immerse her in a culture that valued people as much as performance. Docebo offered exactly that blend.
Analisa Corbo | Docebo | Associate General Counsel
Founded in Italy and now a global leader in the Learning Management Systems (LMS) space, Docebo provides an AI-powered LMS used by organizations around the world. The company had gone public a few months before Corbo joined in early 2021, and its momentum was impossible to ignore. The growth was rapid, the vision bold, and the culture unmistakably international and people-first. That resonated deeply with her.
It was a friend and former Docebo colleague who first introduced Analisa to Docebo. She often spoke about how fast the company was evolving and how it was only a matter of time before Docebo would need its first in-house commercial lawyer. When the call finally came, Corbo knew the timing could not have been better. Analisa immediately clicked with the then-general counsel who hired her into the brand-new role. As the first legal counsel – commercial at Docebo, Analisa knew she had to build credibility quickly, and she launched what she called her “legal PR campaign,” introducing herself to everyone she could, asking a lot of questions, requesting product demos, joining various meetings and immersing herself into every area of the business
Her goal was clear.
“I never wanted legal to feel like a disconnected step in the process, but an integrated partner and fully attuned to the company’s goals,” she said.
That mindset helped her build trust with a sales team that had not worked closely with in-house counsel prior to her joining. Corbo showed them that legal could be a strategic partner, not a roadblock, by focusing on understanding their needs as deeply as she understood contracts. She credits early support from external counsel Jeff Bekiares and the team at Founders LLP, who had been closest to the commercial legal function before her arrival and helped her learn the landscape quickly.
Following the departure of the General Counsel during Corbo’s first year, she suddenly found herself running the legal function alone. She spent evenings and weekends refining processes, organizing systems, and laying the foundation for a more mature legal department. It was a demanding stretch, but it was a formative time in her career. Before long, she hired her former colleague and friend, Shangami Rajaratnam, and together they shouldered every contract, every negotiation, and every legal request that hit their shared inbox. Looking back, what first drew Corbo to Docebo—the global culture of curiosity, collaboration, and trust—continues to define her journey and the leader she has become.
Bringing order to the Wild West
When Corbo first joined, contracts at Docebo lived in what she affectionately described as “the Wild West.” Templates and versions were scattered and inconsistent. She first recognized the issue when she discovered that contracts were fully editable without any controls or approval processes to manage the changes. She immediately put in place a structure to streamline the process and ensure consistency.
Transforming the contracting process required more than new templates. It required business buy-in. She began by building relationships, especially with the sales teams across regions.
“It was very much positioned as a ‘help me help you’ initiative,” she says.
Without a CLM tool at the time, everything happened through email. As Docebo began expanding and selling to larger enterprise customers, that structure became essential. Legal-to-legal conversations helped eliminate friction, and the sales team soon saw firsthand how much value Corbo added to the fast and clean closure of deals.
The demand for overall legal support grew, as did the complexity of the deals. That growth pushed Corbo to scale the legal team thoughtfully, bringing in specialists in privacy and data protection, employment, and other important areas for the business. The commercial legal function grew and evolved from reactive to strategic, built through cross-functional collaboration with the deal desk, security, revenue operations, and finance.
Leading across borders
Docebo’s European roots meant that international presence was part of the company’s DNA. As the business expanded across continents, Corbo wanted her team to reflect that same global reach. Today, her group spans Canada, France, and the United Kingdom, creating a diverse blend of legal expertise, culture, and perspective.
For Corbo, the most rewarding part of building the team has been the people themselves.
“They’ve each taught me something different, and over time they’ve become more than colleagues, but are people that I call my friends,” she says.
Her team includes three lawyers in Toronto, along with a lawyer in Paris and a senior privacy lawyer in London. Time zones separate them, but connection holds them together. They collaborate and support one another in staying informed on legislative updates, compliance and privacy matters, deal execution, product development, and internal initiatives. Analisa ensures that there are opportunities throughout the year to meet in person, including an annual legal summit that brings everyone together for development sessions and cross-functional discussions. Their cross-border collaboration has also shaped how the legal function operates internally. Corbo calls her team a “corporate concierge,” reflecting on how deeply embedded they are across the organization. They are one of the few departments with visibility into almost every corner of the business and a wealth of information.
“I want to know everything, to stay ahead of potential issues and impart influence where I can help mitigate risks,” she says.
This holistic approach has helped legal become a trusted partner, guiding the business as it scales, particularly in evolving areas such as AI governance and government contracting.
Shaping the future through innovation & growth
Docebo’s position as an AI learning company has propelled Corbo and Docebo’s Senior Data Privacy Counsel, Andrea Spataro, to work closely with the AI and product teams to ensure new offerings balance innovation with responsible governance.
“We don’t block progress, we guide teams and help empower innovation with the right guardrails,” she said.
They create frameworks for AI terms, study emerging standards, and build customer trust through transparency. One of Corbo’s proudest contributions was assisting with the launch of Docebo Creator. In this AI-powered content creation tool, she collaborated both internally and cross-functionally to shape the rollout strategy, draft comprehensive terms governing the use of AI, and advise on default settings in the platform that allow customers to toggle AI capabilities on or off, reflecting a simple, flexible approach rooted in user choice and transparency. Another major milestone came when Docebo achieved FedRAMP Moderate authorization, opening the door to work with U.S. government agencies. The effort required coordination across various departments, and Legal stepped in during the procurement and contracting phase, supported by government contracting experts at Polsinelli LLC. The experience became a new area of growth for Analisa and the team and cemented Docebo’s ability to deliver on sophisticated opportunities in the public sector space.
Annual Company events such as Docebo’s Revenue Kickoff and Inspire conference also showcase the depth of legal’s involvement. Analisa has presented alongside the chief revenue officer and spoken on the executive panel. At Inspire, Analisa has also had a chance to meet various customers.
“It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the end result of our work, transforming a contract negotiation into a successful partnership, and seeing that reflected in customers’ appreciation for the product and the event,” Analisa notes.
Looking ahead, Corbo is excited by the opportunity to keep growing professionally with the high-performing team she has built.
“I’ve learned how to lead through change, manage ambiguity, and stay calm when things inevitably get challenging,” she said.
She’s evolved from learning where to start leading with confidence—shaping processes, building a strong team, and steering Docebo through a constantly changing legal landscape. What excites her most is the chance to continue making an impact, grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and her belief that great leadership is deeply human.
