Balancing family, career, & community service 

Marroquin’s interest in law was sparked by a desire to comprehend the underlying frameworks shaping society and the economy. This passion led him to pursue a law degree from Universidad Rafael Landívar and further his education with an MBA from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Initially drawn to the legal intricacies of law firms, Marroquin soon realized that an in-house role offered a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the strategic aspects of business. 

After gaining valuable experience through several years in private practice and in-house positions, Marroquin found his calling at Grupo Financiero G&T Continental in March 2016, eventually assuming his current role as general counsel in February 2020. 

On a personal level, Marroquin finds joy and purpose in his family life. As a devoted husband and father, he cherishes the moments spent with his loved ones. Beyond family, Marroquin channels his creativity and passion into cooking, viewing meal preparation as a form of expression and an avenue for fostering familial bonds. 

In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, Marroquin is deeply committed to serving his community. As the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Sociedad Protectora del Niño, a non-profit organization, he supports young children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Marroquin’s involvement in community service reflects his values of compassion and the belief in the importance of nurturing environments for every child to thrive.
