Smith’s journey reflects her dedication to problem-solving, her passion for rules, and her deep understanding of the financial industry. After graduating from the University of Central Florida, Smith began her career in the finance industry, working in client operations with a registered investment advisory firm. This role introduced her to various rules, regulations, and legal documents, sparking her interest in reviewing and analyzing complex materials.

As her career progressed, Smith recognized the need to deepen her legal knowledge to navigate better the challenges she encountered. This realization led her to pursue a law degree at the University of Baltimore School of Law, ultimately shaping her professional path.

Inspired by former attorneys who had transitioned into compliance roles, Smith expanded her legal expertise. Although an in-house role wasn’t initially her plan, her position at Wealthspire Advisors has allowed her to make a significant impact, extending beyond traditional compliance boundaries. She joined a predecessor company of the firm nearly six years ago as senior manager of client administration, transitioned into a compliance role in 2020, and was promoted to her current role in September 2022.

Smith lives in Jacksonville, Fla., with her husband and three young boys. She enjoys traveling with her family, volunteering at her children’s school, and pursuing her lifelong passion for equestrian sports with her one-eyed Thoroughbred, Henry.
