Sonya Csaszar – University Lands

Est. reading time: 4 mins

Arid, rocky and windblown, the landscape of West Texas seems to stretch on forever. The sky is big and bold above the hills and rock formations, trees are a rarity, and annual rainfall is measured in inches, not feet. Energy is the other measure of this rugged landscape, which has been drilled for oil and […]

Joe Moschella – Jukin Media Inc.

By 2014, clicking through channels on a TV and reading a newspaper were becoming outdated, while digital media was rapidly expanding. That same year, Joe Moschella joined Jukin Media in Los Angeles as general counsel. Since then, he’s been tackling legal and business matters for the global entertainment company. Last year, he played a major […]

At some point, every person, everywhere needs a helping hand, but that help may be hard to get in underserved parts of the country. Keith Benson – U.S. Development Group LLC

Est. reading time: 5 mins

It’s a long way from Alberta’s oil sands-rich prairie to the Texas Gulf Coast refineries and terminals most capable of handling the heavy crude from the north. Pipelines and railroad are the primary connectors, but both entail risk. Pipelines can burst or spring leaks, and freight trains may derail. At least the risks are being […]

Danielle Bouchard — Tokio Marine HCC Specialty Group

When all the parts speak to one another, a company can become as harmonious as any living system. So says Danielle Bouchard, vice president of claims and legal affairs for crisis management at Tokio Marine HCC Specialty Group, a division of global insurer Tokio Marine HCC. She has recently helped create a learning tool for […]

David S. Mitchell – Morning Consult

Est. reading time: 4 mins

For the first 10 years of his legal career, David S. Mitchell started every day with a to-do list. In September 2018, when he joined the startup Morning Consult as its associate counsel, he ditched the lists. “The quintessential characteristic of startups is constant change,” he says. “Startups, by their very nature, are full of […]

Kathryn Ordower – Glossier

Est. reading time: 4 mins

March 12, 2020. The date is engraved in Kathryn Ordower’s memory as the day only four people—from the usual 150 or so—were in office at the New York headquarters of Glossier, a beauty company selling skincare, makeup and fragrance. After weeks of deliberations surrounding the spread and increasing gravity of COVID-19, she and Glossier leaders […]

Chris Moran — Maple Reinders

From creating a budget and project timeline to ensuring safety and accessibility, trust is paramount in the construction business. Without it, the risk of failure and collapse—both literal and figurative—can rise dramatically. Anne Fitzgerald – Cineplex

Est. reading time: 5 mins

When most people retire, their first move is to do something relaxing—a beach vacation or that trip to Paris they’d put off for years. Not Anne Fitzgerald. After retiring as chief legal officer at Cineplex, she spent 11 days snowshoeing on a 150-kilometer route crossing the Arctic Circle on Canada’s Baffin Island. For the first […]

As promised in advance, my feature in Vanguard has increased my visibility within the profession and prompted more than a few people I have not communicated with recently to reconnect. One of the Italian law firms I have used in the past is now in the process of interviewing me for an article on their website and tweeting out the feature story. Activity and the number of people connecting with me on LinkedIn has soared, which is great. The Vanguard writers and editorial staff were great to work with—highly professional and made the effort to make the experience both fun and rewarding (they were also respectful of the time pressures and demands all lawyers face). I was very pleased with the experience and the final outcome. Needless to say, I have been very pleased. All in all working with Vanguard has been a very positive experience which generated good publicity for both Shawcor and myself. My sincere thanks.
– Tim Hutzul, General Counsel, ShawCor Ltd.
The piece highlighting my company, Bob Baker Enterprises, Inc., came out fabulous. Our company is in the new and used car sales and service industry. Everyone was great to work with and extremely professional. They produced a high-quality product and have provided expert assistance and guidance post-production of the article.
– Wade Poulson, General Counsel, Bob Baker Enterprises Inc.
I was honored to be the subject of an article. I enjoy reading Vanguard articles and seeing how other attorneys got to their positions and see their jobs. It's also interesting to see how different law firms partner with the subjects of the articles.
– Henry Marquard, in-house counsel, Stanley Consultants Inc.
It was a great honor to be featured in Vanguard Law. Working with every member of the team, from the initial interview with Erin Clark, through production with Victor Martins, writing the article with Taryn Plumb and creating the final content with Dave Gushee, was a true pleasure. Everyone was very professional, enthusiastic and supportive, and their creative approach and positive attitude clearly came through in the final product.
– Kevin C. Rakowski, Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Compliance with Radian Group Inc.
