Adam Schreck – Discovery Capital Management

Est. reading time: 4 mins

Adam Schreck spent seven years in private practice before considering how he wanted to advance his career—and whether he wanted to continue the path to making partner. “No matter how great any private practice is—legal or otherwise—it only has a finite number of pie slices—a competitive model I didn’t really want to continue immersing myself […]

Alina Marquez Reynolds – Grace Farms Foundation

The arrests draw headlines for a time—perhaps it’s an online sting operation where men expect to meet girls and young women for sex. Perhaps it’s a raid at a business that’s illegally employing workers and cheating them on wages while forcing them to work in unsafe conditions. Another world away, it may be the seizure […]

Arnaud Lamagnere – Gradiant

Mendocino, California. Gunter, Texas. Magdalena, New Mexico. These are just a few of the towns that have run out of water in recent years, whether because of a reliance on shallow wells that dried up during a drought, mechanical glitches in wells due to extreme heat or the town’s water table falling by 20 feet.  […]

Aaron Spira – Daikin

At least 20 percent of global electricity use comes from air conditioners, but a report from the International Energy Agency predicts that AC-related energy demand will triple worldwide by 2050. The past eight years have been the hottest on record, and that trend shows no signs of reversing. There’s another problem afoot besides climate change, […]

Alyssa Flores – Ziff Davis

There’s nothing like total immersion to get one acclimated to a new role. So says Alyssa (Kaplun) Flores about her first day as a member of the Ziff Davis legal department in July 2018. “I opened my inbox to find due diligence materials for the acquisitions of Ekahau and Downdetector,” she recalls. “Since then, I […]

Healthcare professionals, especially nurses, saw a sharp uptick in violence during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the American Hospital Association, studies have found that up to 44 percent of nurses withstood physical violence and 68 percent dealt with verbal abuse from patients during the pandemic. Those trends surfaced at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Delaware, […]

As promised in advance, my feature in Vanguard has increased my visibility within the profession and prompted more than a few people I have not communicated with recently to reconnect. One of the Italian law firms I have used in the past is now in the process of interviewing me for an article on their website and tweeting out the feature story. Activity and the number of people connecting with me on LinkedIn has soared, which is great. The Vanguard writers and editorial staff were great to work with—highly professional and made the effort to make the experience both fun and rewarding (they were also respectful of the time pressures and demands all lawyers face). I was very pleased with the experience and the final outcome. Needless to say, I have been very pleased. All in all working with Vanguard has been a very positive experience which generated good publicity for both Shawcor and myself. My sincere thanks.
– Tim Hutzul, General Counsel, ShawCor Ltd.
It was a great honor to be featured in Vanguard Law. Working with every member of the team, from the initial interview with Erin Clark, through production with Victor Martins, writing the article with Taryn Plumb and creating the final content with Dave Gushee, was a true pleasure. Everyone was very professional, enthusiastic and supportive, and their creative approach and positive attitude clearly came through in the final product.
– Kevin C. Rakowski, Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Compliance with Radian Group Inc.
The piece highlighting my company, Bob Baker Enterprises, Inc., came out fabulous. Our company is in the new and used car sales and service industry. Everyone was great to work with and extremely professional. They produced a high-quality product and have provided expert assistance and guidance post-production of the article.
– Wade Poulson, General Counsel, Bob Baker Enterprises Inc.
I was honored to be the subject of an article. I enjoy reading Vanguard articles and seeing how other attorneys got to their positions and see their jobs. It's also interesting to see how different law firms partner with the subjects of the articles.
– Henry Marquard, in-house counsel, Stanley Consultants Inc.
