There is a healthcare crisis in Alabama that is especially felt in the rural regions encompassing most of the state. More than a dozen of its 51 hospitals in these parts are said to be at risk for closure after accumulating $1.5 billion in losses from the perfect storm of COVID-19 costs and low Medicare […]

Bill Sutton, having overseen legal, compliance, and privacy at another national laboratory company from 2013 to 2019, recognized the opportunity for a new revenue stream when he became general counsel at New Season Treatment Centers in Maitland, Florida, five years ago.  New Season is a national operator of outpatient opioid treatment clinics.  Shortly after joining […]

Stuart Russell – Truliant Federal Credit Union

Est. reading time: 4 mins

To some people, the main difference between a bank and a credit union is simple. A bank is usually a for-profit organization responsible for delivering results to its owner or shareholders. A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative committed to serving the financial needs of its members.      As the general counsel for Truliant Federal […]

Elliot Kahler – Janus International Group

Est. reading time: 5 mins

As a collegiate tennis standout, Elliot Kahler wasn’t shy about charging the net. A slim 6-foot-3 specimen who captained Emory University’s nationally ranked team during his senior year, he’d establish his authority on the court.  Or anywhere else. Upon earning his undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University and cutting his legal teeth for just […]

Cody German – Cole, Scott & Kissane

As youthful indiscretions go, using a fake ID to enter a bar need not stain one’s reputation into adulthood. But adversaries of a certain Brazilian man were making such a mountain of a molehill, even producing a YouTube video that alleged he had done something felonious enough to land in stir.   “If so, I would […]

Sam Brumberg – Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives and Association of Broadband Cooperatives

Est. reading time: 5 mins

Think about this: in the U.S., such inequality exists that one student in high school has high-speed internet at home while another student in the same school in the same grade must sit in a McDonald’s parking lot to access the web. The Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Broadband Cooperatives is doing everything possible […]

Emily Dimond – PNC

Est. reading time: 5 mins

Be it from the role of plaintiff or defendant, litigation is an inevitable part of PNC operating as a bank-holding and financial services corporation active in most states and internationally. Even when there’s nothing contentious between it and other entities, PNC must be ready to provide regulators with evidence of everything being done according to […]

As promised in advance, my feature in Vanguard has increased my visibility within the profession and prompted more than a few people I have not communicated with recently to reconnect. One of the Italian law firms I have used in the past is now in the process of interviewing me for an article on their website and tweeting out the feature story. Activity and the number of people connecting with me on LinkedIn has soared, which is great. The Vanguard writers and editorial staff were great to work with—highly professional and made the effort to make the experience both fun and rewarding (they were also respectful of the time pressures and demands all lawyers face). I was very pleased with the experience and the final outcome. Needless to say, I have been very pleased. All in all working with Vanguard has been a very positive experience which generated good publicity for both Shawcor and myself. My sincere thanks.
– Tim Hutzul, General Counsel, ShawCor Ltd.
It was a great honor to be featured in Vanguard Law. Working with every member of the team, from the initial interview with Erin Clark, through production with Victor Martins, writing the article with Taryn Plumb and creating the final content with Dave Gushee, was a true pleasure. Everyone was very professional, enthusiastic and supportive, and their creative approach and positive attitude clearly came through in the final product.
– Kevin C. Rakowski, Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Compliance with Radian Group Inc.
I was honored to be the subject of an article. I enjoy reading Vanguard articles and seeing how other attorneys got to their positions and see their jobs. It's also interesting to see how different law firms partner with the subjects of the articles.
– Henry Marquard, in-house counsel, Stanley Consultants Inc.
The piece highlighting my company, Bob Baker Enterprises, Inc., came out fabulous. Our company is in the new and used car sales and service industry. Everyone was great to work with and extremely professional. They produced a high-quality product and have provided expert assistance and guidance post-production of the article.
– Wade Poulson, General Counsel, Bob Baker Enterprises Inc.
